Ascent Infinite Realm begins with you, the adventurer, who must explore a torn and shattered world. A great catastrophe struck the planet ages ago, decimating landmasses and fragmenting the world, which has drastically reduced the amount of inhabitable land and available resources. The inhabitants had nowhere to turn but up, and so they took to the sky, relying on machinery to carry them aloft.
In A:IR it is up to you to carry on the legacy, to ascend ever skyward, claiming new altitudes and discovering valuable resources. To do this, you will need to become familiar with various types of machines. These include pioneering equipment, weaponry, and airships. Airships will act as your primary mode of transportation between the floating isles you seek to claim and explore, but keep in mind that pioneering equipment will be helpful once you arrive at your destination. As the terrain becomes more difficult, and monsters seek to halt your progress, powerful weaponry will be your greatest ally, enabling you to soar victoriously onward.
