Mega Man 11, known as Rockman 11: Unmei no Haguruma!! (ロックマン11 運命の歯車！！? lit. “Rockman 11: Gear of Destiny!!”) in Japan, is an upcoming game planned to be released in 2018. It is the eleventh main entry from the original Mega Man series.
Mega Man 11 is set to feature a new, and as of yet unrevealed, gameplay mechanic that, while optional, is said to change the moment-to-moment gameplay and can help balance out the difficulty. This feature is related to the new gear icons beneath Mega Man’s life and weapon energy bars in the game’s HUD.
Mega Man 11 will be similar to both the seventh and eighth installments of the original Mega Man timeline in that it experiments with new and previously unseen graphical styles, as opposed to the series’ more common 8-bit visuals. Much like Mega Man Powered Up, Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X, Mega Man X7 (excluding 3D style area) and Mega Man X8, Mega Man 11 will use 2.5D graphics for the gameplay engine.
